Mrs Pamela Toplis, Serengeti Information Services, UK

After receiving her BSc (Hons) degree in Applied Chemistry in 1985, Pam joined ICI working in Carbohydrate Research before she made the move into Information Science.

During her career with ICI, Zeneca and Avecia, she provided a comprehensive information science service to support scientists, patent attorneys & business managers to develop and protect the Companys’ research and intellectual property. Pam is an expert user of pertinent scientific, patent and business databases and the application of effective text and structure based search strategies.

She has a proven track record of being able to match the most appropriate information sources with business requirements and has a high level of experience in information retrieval in areas such as pharmaceuticals, biotechnology, inkjet printing, biocides, electronic materials and polymers.

In 2006 Serengeti Information Services was established to deliver this same level of service and expertise to a wider audience. Pam is a member of the AIIP (Association of Independent Information Professionals) and PIUG (Patent Information User Group).
